Your confidential information and keeping it secure is vital to us. We spend a lot of time and money keeping up with all the latest ways to keep this information as safe as is humanly possible.

Some of the ways we are doing this are listed below.

SECURE SOCKET LAYERS

Whenever any information is sent electronically over the internet it can be intercepted by people who are up to no good. Using Secure Socket Layers (known as SSL) is accomplished by purchasing a SSL Certificate which encrypts this information by scrambling it in a way that no one can read it while it is on it's way through cyber space and can only be un scrambled by the intended recipient. We have our own Certificate to accomplish this, so any of your data is sent by this means to our Credit Card Processor. If there is any problem with our Certificate, a warning will pop up on your computer screen with options for you to check further on if you wish.

PCI SECURITY STANDARDS

My HVAC Parts is not only McAfee Secure, but also PCI Compliant. Our entire site is scanned by McAfee daily looking for any problems that would make us vulnerable to attacks by hackers or that make us NON PCI compliant.

McAfee SECURE SCANNING

Most people who use a computer are well aware of McAfee Anti Virus software to help keep viruses and spyware away from their computers. This same company also has the largest scanning service to scan businesses for holes in web sites that hackers could use to gain access to personal information. The McAfee Secure Logo only shows up on any of our pages if our site passes their DAILY Security Scan. If it doesn't pass the Logo disappears and we get a notification alerting us to a problem for us to get repaired. Obviously, we attend to any such problems immediately!

INFORMATION THAT IS STORED BY US

We never even get most of your critical information in the first place. Your order comes to us with only the last 4 digits of your card number, your shipping name and address, and the specific ordering information. We keep this information on paper and on our computers so that we can reach you should it become necessary to place or otherwise handle your order. Because of this, if a credit is due you for some reason, we will need to be able to e mail you or call you to get the card number over the phone. Only (2) employees with a need to know even have access to this information. Each employee with this information has their own unique I.D. to be able to access it and must do it with a password unique to them that can be traced by us. All our employees are given on going training as to our security guidelines.

WHY WE ASK FOR E MAIL ADDRESSES AND PHONE NUMBERS

We have absolutely no interest in your e mail address or your phone number as we don't send you any spam of any kind for promotional reasons, however, if a problem with the order arises, we need to be able to reach you as soon as possible to correct the problem and process your order as quickly as we can. Your information is never sold or given to any other company by us directly. Any external links to sites other than our own may not share this philosophy so use any links on our sites such as advertisements at your own risk.
